Linda says,

<<However, I would love to get my hands on a good article as to how moms who
have an electric pump at work ultimately SAVE money for the insurance
company due to less illness in the baby, less lost work time, etc. I would like to
look at this as an opportunity to educate. >>

I'm going to be the proverbial wet blanket and announce that basically, the
insurance companies don't give a rip. And the reason? A person will change
insurance companies many many times (or their employer will -- or they will
change employers so -- the effect is the same). Why should the insurance
company pay for something (breastpump rental, or lactation visit) that in the
long run may benefit another insurance company? Paying for lactation services
when the baby is 1 month old is probably not going to save THAT insurance
company money when the baby is 4 months old, because the likelihood is that the
parents will have switched.

Sad, but there you have it.
