I know I have read here comments from various folks saying that once
supplementation is reduced to a single bottle of just a few ounces, it can be
just cut out and the breasts will make up the difference fine. Anybody
have any kind of reference I can use for this to parents?

This mom had lots of problems in the early weeks including (leading to?) low
supply. Dad has been feeding one formula feeding in the evening. That
feed is now down to <4oz, once a day, and I advised that they could probably
eliminate it if mom would just nurse then instead. They are worried about
the baby, a relatively slow grower though easily WNL, not getting short
changed.

I told them that if they are nervous they can check by trying it for 2-3 days
and seeing whether baby seems happier (I suspect some dairy issues, so I'm
particularly encouraging them to ditch the Enfamil for that reason) or
crabbier. But if anybody has anything I can use to "prove" it will be OK
that would be a help.

Thanks. Elisheva
