Dear Dr. Kute;

Previously there was discussion about overweight babies who were breastfed.
Respectfully I would suggest two things;
Research is quite indicative that the weight gain from breastfeeding is not
the issue in obesity; other parts of this child's diet probably are.
Research also does not group night time breastfeeding in the same category
as sweet drinks, I believe.

As for night time feeding and weaning, the La Leche League's Breastfeeding
Journal " New Beginnings" Jan/Feb 2004. Vol. 21/#1, has some good reading
under the Subject; Letting Go: A Weaning Story.

I have that copy in our clinic for mothers to look through and continue to
wean with love.
