I was contacted by a mother of a toddler. The toddler has severe allergies
and is primarily breastfed with very few solids tolerated. They are being
followed by allergists and GI. I have permission to post and would like to
have any insight on this as I have never heard of this before. I am copying
her post here.
" I had some milk in the fridge that my mom tried to give Sarah while I was
out and in an attempt to teach her how to use a straw my mom accidentally
swallowed some of the milk and she said it tasted horrible and instantly
burned her throat all the way down which lasted well over an hour. The milk
did not smell bad at all and was pumped in the last day or 2 and stored in
the back of the fridge. Has anyone ever heard of milk causing burning? I'm
wondering if this is why dd refuses more then 6oz during her 10 hours at day
care."

I have heard of sour or soapy tasting milk but never milk that burns. This
toddler does great at the breast, no problems whatsoever, it is just the
milk she receives at daycare that she refuses. Has anyone heard of this or
have any insight at all? Thanks in advance.
