One would certainly think that, if breastfeeding caused breast development in one year old children, there would be an abundance of evidence about it.  

Julia had breast bud development at that age.  The ped said it could be from a little cyst on the ovary or something but that it was nothing to worry about.  She retained the development until, at age 10, she started developing more.  Now, at 12, she is quite well endowed, for a skinny little thing who hasn't even started menstruating yet.  I have wondered if that suggests that her breast tissue may be especially sensitive to the effects of hormones, but I really don't know.   I wonder if there could be a genetic component, but I don't have such information about her biological family.

Some times I wonder how people think the human race could have survived for all these millenia, if breastfeeding was the cause of all the problems they blame on it!
