A woman about 35 was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism which
developed after her third pregnancy (children now 6 and 4 years, and 4
months). She has taken 400 mg PTU/day for about six weeks, but still
has many symptoms, principally weight loss and extreme exhaustion. She
is concerned about her own debilitated condition, and wonders three
     things:
        a) can she keep up her milk supply in this condition?
        a) what can she do to improve her own nutritional status?
        b) will discontinuing breastfeeding help her to stabilize her
           weight or ease the exhaustion?

     Thanks for any suggestions!
