Hi, Esti:  Check with your government/health agencies and see if there is
not an organization that offers information and support to families.  Her
in the US we have a wonderful organization that was founded by a mother of
a baby with Down Syndrome - this "baby" is now in college, but she formed
this organization when she realized there was no support out there for her
and her family.  It is a national organization and most hospitals/doctors
will refer a family when the diagnosis is made.  Some of the assistance
available includes written information, hospitals, clinics, doctors who
specialize in Down Syndrome, and parent-to-parent support services.  A dear
friend of mine has a 9 year-old son with Down Syndrome and she found the
support she got from being put in touch with another family invaluable.  In
fact, she makes herself available to other families now and I have referred
several of my mothers to her, as she also successfully nursed him for 14
months after being repeatedly told that it would be impossible.
The name of the organization is National Association for Down Syndrome
(NADS).  Their web-site is www.nads.org.
