< I have been on the dairy and soy free diet for a while now
and for the past week she has really shown her true colors!  She is 3 months
old, smiling, cooing, 'talking', and acting like an all around happy baby.
What a difference, it kills me to remember how much pain she was in before

Dear Megan,

Just a thought, but the fact that this little girl got so much better at 3
months means that her improvement after dietary changes may have been
coincidental.  Since colic usually goes away at about 3 months, it is
possible that the baby does not have any allergies at all.

In a few weeks, it would be reasonable to let Kim try some bites of soy (or
dairy) for a few days and see how her baby does.  In my experience, truly
allergic babies get worse within 1-4 days of their mom eating the offending
food.
