I recently battled a persistent bleb. It was around for 3 months. It got so bad I had to feed my then 2 
year old from one breast only while pumping the other.
I tried many things including some alternative treatments (oh no) but to no avail.
I finally went to a breast surgeon and asked her to lance the sucker. She refused such an "invasive 
procedure". 
She thought a round of Kelex would be what I needed. I was very skeptical. I hate taking meds so 
much. I took the Rx. but wasn't going to fill it. 
I consulted over the phone with a doctor of breastfeeding medicine colleague and she thought it 
might not be a bad idea to take the meds.
So reluctantly I took it. 10 days later it went away... Apparently there was an underlying infection that 
prevented it from healing.
I am not saying this should be routine treatment. Far from it. I have been able to counsel many moms 
through blebs without them ever taking antibiotics, but just wanted to give my personal experience 
with it.
