I had a conversation today with a pediatrician (very pro-BF, currently
nursing her 3rd baby) about maternal wt. loss while lactating. She thinks
she's heard or read that a lactating woman who is restricting calories (at
around 1,000 cal./day) can get ketonic (but still feel well) and there can
be toxic levels of ketones in her milk.
I had never heard of this and told her I would post on Lactnet. Is there any
information about this? I couldn't find anything in my library.
TIA.
