I have worked with a number of moms with milk blebs - and one in particular
i will always remember. she tried *everything* to get rid of it. i
actually believe that whoever is attached to the breast that would feel the
pain should be the one to hold the needle, and she did indeed remove the
flap multiple times, but it always grew back. the ONLY thing that worked
(after 9 months of trying other things, unfortunately) is to use APNO
daily for several weeks after removing the flap of skin over the bleb and
vigorous hand expression to express the curd of milk.

she tried lansinoh, lotrimin, and i believe even polysporin, separately,
but the APNO is the only thing that worked.

in my experience, i would emphasize the need for antibacterial ointment
after removal of the skin covering, very *Strongly*. i had another mom who
removed the flap easily enough, but neglected to follow my instructions to
use antibacterial ointment and has had recurring mastitis since then.

i have also heard that one can "trim" the skin with nail scissors
(sterilized) if it is big enough, and that can make it difficult to
overgrow again. i would still use antibacterial if not APNO, though.

do you have diane weissinger's "bleb" sheet? if you write her, i am sure
she will email it to you.

my 2 cents. hope it helps.
