A client of mine had baby's posterior tongue-tie clipped at 4 1/2
weeks. He had not nursed for 3 weeks prior. He would not nurse after
the frenotomy. Mom tried a new breastflow bottle twice and within 5
hrs. of frenotomy he would go to breast. She credits the bottle as
being a good transitional tool  between the regular bottle nipple he
was using and the breast. This was a good sized baby. Other mothers of
newborns with smaller lip openings have felt it was too big a nipple
for their babies.
