We have used the "Australian" position (infant prone on reclining mom) well
for several infants with meningomyelocele.  Put Mom in a recliner chair -
doesn't need to be completely horizontal, as you can support the infant under
the buttocks - and let them go at it!  Also good for moms with overabundant
milk supply, so they don't drown the infant!
