This, too, sounds like my daughter (child # 4).

Baby boys born before her were 7# 1oz, 8# and 8# 10oz. Darling little elf
was born (literally read "flew" out of me) at 6#9oz. Lots of skin to skin,
fed on demand. At check ups, my family doc at the time (WONDERFUL South
African doctor) told me Little Elf was growing on her own scale. I think
she barely (BARELY) met minimum wts dr's like to see. I know she
was below the curve, but my doc told me she just made her own growth curve.
I didn't ask percentiles - just if she was growing. Lots of poops,
pees...met milestones. When we moved back to Ontario, Little Elf grew just
as she did in BC. I was blessed with yet another wonderful doctor (nursing
her babe at the time) who also told me not to worry - she was developing on
her own scale. All the boys were 20 by 6 months at the latest. I think
Cordelia was a year or more before that benchmark.

Seeing such a tiny baby compared to the boys scared me a bit - there was
nothing to her compared to my 8#10oz baby!! The doc helped me to feel
confident in doing what was right.

She is almost 7 now, and in the past year, finally grew to 'normal' height.
LOL Her weight is still something to be desired. I think she may be 45
pounds, if that. But, she's brilliant and vibrant and so, so healthy (such
a proud mama).

My hubby and I are 5'6" and my mom isn't 5' tall. But our oldest son (at 15
yrs old) is 5'9" - tallest on both sides of the family. Genetics can work
for you sometimes lol

Just food for thought :-)
