I've also had personal experience with this. My dentist was very pro-breastfeeding and said he didn't think it would be a problem; I nursed her (she was three) immediately when she came around from the anaesthetic and frequently in the following days. She did vomit after that first nursing, but there were no problems other than that. (And it made her happy!).
