Hello all--

I am interested in a comment made about the epidural having been given to a
mom whose baby was "arching his back and crying". Since many moms have
epidurals for Caesarean deliveries and the babies often latch on with no
problems (see Dr. Righard's film with the C/S baby who self attached at 10
hours, but whose mom ONLY had the epidural and nothing else). I often see
that the epidural leads to further manipulations and maneuvering of the baby
during delivery (things like fundal pressure, forceps or vacuum extractor),
and wonder if this isn't the cause of more of our babies' problems than just
the epidural itself?
This is one of the main reasons that I am in grad school now...to find the
answers to some of these questions that I have had.
