Yes, my most successful experience with a surrogate situation was where biologic mom AND the surrogate both put baby to breast while in the hospital (mom using SNS and some of her expressed milk), so baby could receive the most colostrum. Then surrogate was paid to provide pumped milk for 3 months, and baby received only human milk for the first 6 months!

Subject: Tricky question re . surrogate

Can/should the surrogate who carries the child for a couple (donated egg
and sperm), breastfeed/provide milk for that child?
I just can't wrap my brain around it.
It hasn't come up in my practice, but med. student came up with the
question.
Thank you.
