Although it is the right thing to stop a study if the participants are being
harmed by an intervention, I hardly think we should change our clinical
practice based on the conclusions of this one study. they only used one brand
of hydrogel! Until there is a study that is structured in a way to control for
all the variables, our practice needs to remain intact. The info in this study
about the lanolin is very interesting and I look forward to seeing a
replication of the results on the lanolin before I go back to using it as my
sole approach for nipple wound healing.
