New info on the Scope of Practice

 

 

IBLCE Scope of Practice 

As of November 6, 2006, the IBLCE Board has decided to temporarily remove
the Scope of Practice from the IBLCE website. The concerns raised by
practicing IBCLCs warrant careful consideration. 

 

The IBCLE Board of Directors welcomes the many constructive comments that
have been made regarding the document, which was the result of two years of
extensive international consultation, including inputs from numerous
practicing IBCLCs and the ILCA Board of Directors. It takes time to develop
a sound Professional Scope of Practice, and the process inevitably generates
a variety of views. The Board wishes to assure all IBCLCs that the
development of the Scope of Practice was in no way intended to infringe or
restrict their practice.
