I work in the Postpartum unit of a hospital. We use feeding tubes and 10 cc oral syringes to supplement our breastfed babies (when medically indicated). Most of these babies are > 36 weeks gestation, well babies. We used to tell our patients to use this SNS system for 24 hours and then dispose of them. We would have our moms rinse them with warm water in between uses. Now, it has been brought to my hospital's attention that the parts are labeled for one time use only. So, my hospital is now giving the patient's new pieces for every feed. What is your facility doing? If you work in an outpatient setting, how do you instruct your patients/clients?

Thank you,
