I have just spoken with a mom of an 8 month old girl. She is concerned that
her milk has decreased dramatically. She works outside the home and used to
be able to easily get 20 oz per day and now down to a dificult 9 oz. After
questioning she told me she has recieved 2 Depo Provera shots and that's
when the problem began. She will schedule an appointment with her MD for
tommorrow to discuss alternate means of birth control.

I have very little experience with Depo Provera. How often is it given and
for how long? Will her milk supply
increase and if so, about how soon? She is willing to increase frequency of
pumping and breastfeeding. Anything I need to be aware of to help this mom
through this?

Thanks,
