Dear Lactnet Friends:

Brenda poses a question for a mother with slow flow.

Has she tried pumping one side while breastfeeding on the other?

How does she know when to put baby to the breast? This 2.5 ounces: is that
a pre/post gain after one feed? One feed is merely a snapshot of a moment;
To be accurate, it should be done for each feed for as close to 24 hours.

Would she be interested in safely bed-sharing, and letting baby have free
access to the breast for the nights, when prolactin levels are naturally
highest? That could feel good, once she returns to work.

warmly,
--
