I can easily count on one hand the number of truly congenital lactose-
intolerant/lactase deficient infants that I have ever seen/treated.
The lactose-free formulas are truly a fad.
Virtually all infants have lactase, the enzyme necessary for digesting
lactose, so there is NO rationale for choosing a formula without lactose for
infants.  NONE!
