Two things struck me about the articles I've read in the last couple
days on this subject;
1 - 11 out of 23 women had measurable peanut protein in their milk
after eating the peanuts. Therefore, it isn't automatically in the
milk of every mom who eats peanuts. Why not? Is there a
correlation between the protein showing up in mom's milk and a
history on her part of a sensitivity to that protein-either direct
or inverse correlation?
2 - The article (and that leads me to deduce that the study itself)
did not show that the presence of the peanut protein in mom's milk
directly related to the infant being sensitive to peanuts, only that
it was showing up in the milk. In the absence of a family history
of sensitivity to peanuts, is it good or bad for the infant to
receive the proteins? Does their presence automatically lead to
sensitivity or can early exposure help an infant to better accept
them later?

In other words, it seems a lots of conclusions are being made (or
encouraged) by the reports that aren't necessarily drawn from the
study itself. And the most telling detail is who funded the study!
Now why would a formula manufacturer be interested in such a study?
HMMMM.
