Hello all!

I know a mom who would appreciate more angles to her situation. I have
permission to post. She has been taking Oxycodone (L3) 5 mg 8x day & time
release Oxycontin 40 mg 5x/day for a long time (a year or more at different
levels) and still during pregnancy. Right after delivery (planned C), she
was actually at a higher level with a 150mg fentanyl patch. At this point
the baby has been born and went through some drug withdrawal therapy (2 wks)
and is now 2.5 weeks old and home. Baby's metabolism was very, very high
due to drug we understand. Mom is planning to have back surgury at 8 weeks
and hopes to be in less pain and be able to get off the drugs. Mom has been
pumping and dumping and hopes to breastfeed at some point. This is her
third baby, first since she's been using the drugs. Most everyone she has
consulted about breasfeeding is very leary about it. She is also now
working with a pain clinic.

Any thoughts are welcome!
Thanks,
