Jessica:
I feel your pain.
With Emily, my youngest, I was fortunate to be able to take her to work with
me everyday(!) for the first six months I was back at work. (Age 2mo to 8mo
for her). As she became increasingly mobile, I started leaving her home one
day a week for a couple of weeks, then two days a week, etc. By the time she
was eleven months old she was staying home full time. She also would have
nothing to do with bottles. In an eight hour day, she would maybe take 4oz,
and only if she was starving. She became a reverse cycle feeder and that
worked very well for us until about eleven months of age when she decided the
bottle wasn't so bad.
Accordingly, my suggestions are: Put the baby in a sling and go on about
your business. Or start with small segments of time away from her and see if
she will adjust her intake accordingly. Cosleeping is a must for this,
however.
Good Luck.
