The post from Karen Lowell once again brings up yeast as a contributor
to pain at the breast when breastfeeding. I wish to ask if other than
changes in diet, Nystatin, gentian violet and other prescription drugs
--have other anti-yeast supplements for "systemic" yeast been discussed?

For example, stool sampling showed my husband harbored four different
yeast strains. He has been taking Nutri-West's Yeast Redux
successfully.
I have been on Twin Labs Yeast Fighters (contains Biotin).

Previously, an alternative practitioner who uses the Voll meter to test
the electrical field of remedy substances, prescribed Sanum brand
German homeopathics for yeast and fungus:

One is a remedy Pefrakehl for Candida parapsilosis and another
Quentakehl
is for Fungus Racemoses (sp). Not everyone has the strain Candida
albicans,
though that is all anyone in the US speaks of. Only Sherry Rogers MD's
books mention Candida parapsilosis (author of "Tired & Toxic")

On taking these remedies, one does get a Herxeimer's reaction, a
definite
worsening of symptoms as the organism begins its die off. This is
really challenging for allopathic MD's following the patient. They
think
the patient should stop the therapy immediately. But one does have to
get
worse before they get better with homeopathic treatment. Severity of
symptoms can be antidoted. I used homeopathic Belladonna & Arnica
Montana
as per the practitioner. My die off symptoms were the same as an awful
flu: extreme headache, muscle ache and hot and cold chills. It kept
me in bed until the antidote began to work.
