The mother of a 19 month old is taking 500 mg of biaxin (clarithromycin)
twice daily for pneumonia. Physician wants her to wean and is unavailable
for dialogue. Child eats plenty of solids, also nurses a lot. Tom Hale's
book indicates no human studies. Any thoughts? (I suggested she take the
1.7 hr peak plasma into account if she nurses - and I know she will - and
to watch for diarrhea and nausea. Anything that will reassure her would
be welcome.)
