Regarding the mom who experiences intensly negative physical sensations
while nursing,  I'd like to second the possibility that this could strictly
be a hormonal/brain chemistry issue.

I'm not discounting the possibility that there is some sort of
trigger/body memory here, but certainly the physical side needs to be
checked out before anything as drastic as weaning occurs.
