Just a note when doing research on breastfeeding. Do not assume that
what is true in your area is true everywhere. I have often heard from
Americans--we have very low breastfeeding rates amongst our Hispanic
women, or they always want to supplement. This is very different from
what we see here in Toronto, where the Hispanic women, generally, are
keen breastfeeders, usually succeed gloriously, seek help when they
are having problems, continue for at least 6 months, often a year or
more and do *not* want to supplement.
