Lynn,
I'd really want to know what the number was for prolactin as I've had many
docs accept the lab report interpretation for normal (non pregnant, non
lactating) as normal for lactation! Not the same by a long shot.

The mom sounds like she may be a prime candidate for domperidone.

As an aside, I'm doing research on shatavari right now as another
galactogogue. It has been compared to reglan and found to have similar
efficacy in gastric emptying. Apparently it also stimulates prolactin and
has been found to be a galactogogue for buffalo. There is a human report but
no abstract (I'd like to read that article!) I've read that it has
"anti-oxytocic effects on uterine contractions" during pregnancy, but there
have been no concerns expressed for milk ejection in lactation. Considered
to be a strong galactogogue, good for infertility, and considered to be safe
for use at any time, including pregnancy.

When did the pituitary damage occur? Was it birth-related or otherwise? If
the former, pituitary insults may improve in function over time.......
