I followed a mother/baby with the same exact history recently.  The mother
had been advised by her Peds and another LC to stop all dairy products.  I
suggested  that she come into the office.  To make a long story short,  my
findings were insufficient milk supply.  She went off the birth control pill,
started on Fenugreek 4 capsules 3 times a day and began switch nursing.  The
baby's stools went back to normal and he began gaining weight.
