I just wanted to update everyone on the case I reported last week.
The baby never had another bottle, instead Mom offered her breast with a
small shield at all feedings and then the baby was supplemented through an
NG. On day 4 the NG was pulled and on day 5 baby was discharged. The
stridor was less but not gone. On day 6 Mom told me the baby would not nurse
without the shield but doing well with the shield. On day 7 seen at pedi
office, same weight as at discharge, voiding and stooling well. On day 8
stridor almost gone and cry is getting stronger.
Baby continues to want to hyperextend her head and I recommended she seek out
a chiropractor, she will think about this and let me know.
Here is my question to the group; defining "bubble palates and high arch
palates". I thought a high arch palate has gradual lines to the arch of the
palate and a bubble palate has a definite ridge from the gum line and then a
sudden edge where the bubble is formed. Is this correct? And the degree can
be mild to extreme? I also thought that a bubble palate was more related to
hereditary and the high arch palate related to other syndromes?
Thanks for any feedback.
