Is anyone aware of how to find out how tongue tie is inherited. I know
there can be genetic component. I am aware of a family with two sons who
were tongue tied and the daughter was not. The younger son's tongue was
clipped at birth and had no residual problems. This son had a daughter who
was not tongue tied. The older son's tongue was not clipped until age three
when speech problems had already resulted. The older son's wife is now
pregnant and wonders the odds of their child being tongue tied. None of the
three children were able to breastfeed.

Is this more likely inherited in males?

Thanks for your help,
