I cringe every time I read a suggestion about having some mother's milk analyzed for fat content. All I picture is a lab handing over a sterile cup and saying, "Honey, go express some milk into this cup." Well, you know the results, not enough fat!

Now, on the other hand, Paula Meier's mothers of preemies do their own creamatacrits! Her pumping advice is to pump two minutes past the last drops of milk so the most fatty milk is received and I suppose a test is done on the MIXTURE of milk or all the milk pumped for that session.

Now, how many labs do you think would test a mother's milk the first way???
