I have had several patients of late that have no risk factors for DOL II, no risk factors for low milk supply, normal labs (Prolactin, Progesterone and Thyroid) and they simply never bring in a full milk supply. They seem to max out at about 250ml a day. They are highly motivated to make it work, pump as recommended with appropriate pumps and still, stuck at 250.

I am open to all thoughts on what I may be missing….they had good births, in BF hospitals, with appropriate follow up and early interventions when low milk supply and infant weight loss was identified (DOL 4,5)

I feel well-read on the subject, but would really like to hear some more ideas, because I”m a little lost on why these normal women, with good births, good support have bodies that aren’t producing normal volumes of milk…..
