Just reminding everyone that some engineers have social skills and do not
have sensory deficits.

I'm not sure why we have to perpetuate the stereotype that engineering is a
profession only for those lacking in the above.  It's not just a profession
for those "nerdy, geeky" types.  It reminds of the stereotypes that I heard
when I was an undergraduate that engineering wasn't a field for women.

Studying chemical engineering gave me the opportunity to study math and
sciences (that I loved).  It also provided me with a framework to do
efficient problem solving (something that has help me greatly as a
clinician). Also as my high school chemistry teacher put it to me, "what are
you going to do if you don't get into medical school."  I also attended a
school that encouraged interdisciplinary learning and thinking "outside of
the box."

Mind you I don't have a daily use for tensor calculus, fluid mechanics or
transport phenomena... (but this was FAR more interesting than the first two
years of medical school).

Back to learning more about breastfeeding...
