Hi All,
I am working with a little boy who is currently 6 wks old. He is
breastfeeding well, now, after a challenging start having severe tightness
in jaws and causing mom much pain and discomfort. That issue has been
mostly resolved, however over the past 4 weeks he has developed a tight
abdomen and is very gassy, extremely fussy...a very unhappy little boy.

Ped says "Don't worry, no big deal." Meanwhile, the family is frustrated.
Baby cries and is uncomfortable most of his waking hours. He passes gas
frequently but it isn't nearly enough to relieve the tightness in his
abdomen. Mom has tried Simethicone drops and gripe water (which seems to be
more effective, but still not nearly enough), and we are now working on some
gentle infant massage strokes for gas/colic. Mom tried the chicken and rice
diet, no dairy, no gassy greens, etc - NO improvement for baby. Mom is
thinking about getting a 2nd opinion. Baby has been seen regularly by a
chiropractor who agrees a 2nd opinion is necessary - he does do the tapping
on the abdomen to help relieve some of the gas as well as adjustments for
the C-1 and jaw issues baby was/is having.

What now? I have never seen a baby with a tummy this tight - it is FIRM.
There is no give to this tummy at all. He is clearly unhappy and in pain
with this. Help!
