<<<I had to laugh when reading this; I get your point. Oxytocin
causing
labor is something I was taught who knows where and when, and now you've

given me cause to go back and revisit that seriously. I pulled out my
physiology text, but it doesn't discuss orgasm, let alone the
relationship to oxytocin. One section notes that "This hormone has no
known function in males, but in females it is known to stimulate
contractions of the uterus during labor and contractions of the mammary
gland alveoli and ducts......">>>>

A few months ago , in line at the grocery store, I read a fascinating
article all about oxytocin in SHAPE magazine. Feeling thrifty I did not
purchase the magazine and have been kicking myself ever since. It was
very thorough and one of it's main points was that oxytocin is produced
in response to many things, (so it is present before orgasm) and causes
very fuzzy thinking! As in - will cloud your thought processes in favor
of procreation. A species survival mechanism. Pushes sex over
responsible thinking. (Maybe it's a good thing I didn't buy it , my
teenagers would love that excuse!)
Also explains the "milk brain" of the lactaing woman.
If anyone locates a source for this issue , please post.
