Re: the mother whose periods had returned but are now stopped again.

Of course you should check for pregnancy but I consider this a common
occurance. It happened with all three of my children and I hear of it often
enough that I sometimes mention it prenatally.  I do not know of any
scientific literature but how much of 'normal' is well documented when we
are dealling with breastfeeding and/or menstruation.
