i guess it would depend what this mother wanted from a breastfeeding relationship for her adopted child.  Most adoptive mothers don't make a full supply for their baby.  Many, despite, all their efforts, and not able to induce lactation at all, but still go on to nurse their babies with an SNS or similar, or just nurse their baby without milk- there is much more to breastfeeding than just the milk!
