Rec'd an anxious call from a first-time mom who is breastfeeding a 6 month old. It
seems she has been eating unpasteurized cheese for the last week and a friend? told her
that it was harmful for baby since she was breastfeeding. I have tried the archives and
my library of books ( Riordan&Auerbach, RLawrence,MMinchin 4th edition of "Breastfeeding
Matters". It seems to me if mom ingests the cheese the risk of the bacteria from it not
being boiled would affect her primarily, and the baby would have less chance of risk
because of the breastmilk???

Appreciate your help,
(baby is strictly breastfed)
