On normal spectrum, I think - I more than occasionally come across 
mothers who report this, and I have smelled it myself in babies. It 
is quite strong......and they make terrible pongs when they fart, too 
:) :)

In all the cases I know of, the baby has grown out of it, and the 
baby is otherwise perfectly healthy.

If you google, the subject is a popular question in mothers' forums.

Does she really want to eliminate dairy? Seems drastic for something 
that will go of its own accord (unless she really thinks the baby has 
a digestive problem, in which case it should be checked out).

After all the baby doesn't care that he's a bit stinky!!
