I had one of those fleeting thought after the posting about Depo -- someone
mentioned that their docs "don't trust breastfeeding" to provide
contraception. However, if a mom wants to get pregnant and is breastfeeding
a toddler, the first thing her OB will tell her to do is stop breastfeeding
because it will prevent her from getting pregnant.

Which is it, oh learned OBs? Ya can't have it both ways!

Of course, what is such a hoot about it all is that exclusive breastfeeding
during the first 6 months is 98% effective against ovulation -- once mom's
menses have returned, so have her hormonal levels to her prepregnant state.

Sigh. As Jack pointed out once, breastfeeding is blamed for everything:
from not being able to conceive to not preventing conception to hair falling
out to mood swings to not being able to pay the mortgage.
