I've always worked under the premise that milk from yeasty ducts may
perpetuate more yeast problems. After all, why do we treat
non-symptomatic moms or babes when only one in the dyad is currently
symptomatic? Because it is easily passed back and forth. Why do we boil
bras and toys, if this is "normal flora"? Yeast infections are by nature
easily transmitted, and I consider the milk "contaminated" in terms of
its ability to start a new infection. Why take a chance? I'd use the milk
during the infection time, but not afterwards (ie, mom pumping at work
for baby).
