For breastfeeding moms on this Rx:

This is the title of an article in a recent e-OB-GYN newsletter:
Volume 41 <http://www.obgynnews.com/issues?Vol=41>, Issue
22<http://www.obgynnews.com/issues/contents?issue_key=TOC@@JOURNALS@QO@0041@0022>,
Page 5 (15 November 2006)
"Panels Advise Tighter Standards for Levothyroxine: FDA
advisory committees agreed thst drug potency loss during shelf life should
be limited to 5%"

The quality of the dosage is particularly important for survivors of thyroid
cancer. A small percentage of change makes a big difference in the precision
of the dosage. The article makes the point that not only the age and storage
conditions of the drug matter, but the fact that pharmacists commonly switch
prescriptions among various generic preparations, which also needs to be
investigated because they are not all precisely alike.

Would be good for any of our clients or others on this Rx to know of this
new finding.
