There is a mother in my LLL group (permission to share) has two children who
are hefty gainers! Her words: "She was 10 lbs, 6 oz at birth, weighed 21 lbs
at four months, 25 lbs at six months, and 31 lbs at one year. She was
exclusively BFed until six months when we started a few solids." About her
son she says: "He was 9 lbs, 10oz at birth and is now 23 lbs at eight
months...I think about 29" in height now."

My own children both hit 20lbs around 4 months and then pretty much level
off for a good while. My boy was smaller than my girl too. Sounds to me like
this baby might just be a bigger child. Why replace imperfect nutrition to
slow down growth that is a result of perfect nutrition specially made for
this child?

I know it is not a study, but some personal observation that might help her.
Feel free to pass this on. She might want to attend LLL meetings if
available or do online meetings to meet other moms of big babies.

Micky
