You are right, Clomid only causes low milk production in an already 
lactating woman. It does not affect the milk production for the child 
conceived with it, as far as we know. Unfortunately, moms with 
infertility who need help to conceive are at higher risk for low milk 
supply.
Could your friend have PCOS? If so, treating it (usually with metformin) 
during pregnancy can help prevent miscarriage, preterm births, and birth 
defects (according to the latest study), and metformin during lactation 
has been helpful in increasing milk supply in a good proportion of moms 
with PCOS in Dr. Mona Gabbay's breastfeeding medicine practice. For more
