Hi All,
Val, what type of postition is baby in at nite feeds? If there is no pain
at nite feeding then postioning sounds like a major cause here, to me.
Obviously there are differences in positioning when sitting vs lying down.
I would suggest to mom that she nurse in the same position as nite time
feeds for a bit.
Now here is another thought. What type of birth did these two have? Any
birth trauma to baby? I wonder, if the nipple appears to be getting
squished to the side during BF, does the baby have a sore/tight muscle that
is not allowing for full extention of the jaw thus limiting or changing the
movement of the tounge? Would seeing a cranio-sacral therepist or massage
therapist help this type of situation?
Just some thoughts,
Jay
