 I had been taught sucking blisters were a positive sign, normal and
 expected. It sounds like you think they may warn the position of latch
 is incorrect. Could you clarify for me please?

Re Susan's comment about the sucking blister, they are sometimes seen as
breastfeeding gets perfected and then they go away, but they can indicate an
attempt to maintain the breast in the mouth when the usual deep latch isn't
occuring for other reasons, short frenulum or tongue, poor tone etc...
